12/28 - 'Down the stretch they come.."
Retaliation is 95% done, and we're looking forward to the January 1st release date. Marty Hudzik of Icicle Studios, creators of my favorite fanfilm "Seeds of Darkness", has come aboard to help me with Quicktime web compression for the short.

12/22 - I've found my voice!
After some great submissions, I've found my voice. The talent was provided by Matthew Carauddo, or GreytaleNovaStar1138 on the TFN boards. He's also lent a hand in creating the voice effects that go with the short and I'm enthused about what he'll bring to the project. Here's a link to Matthews site, check it out!

12/19 - Retaliation Trailer Released

12/06 - All the elements are ready for compositing, and then onto sound. I expect a trailer to be done by 12/20 at the latest.

12/05 - Shooting on Sunday was a success, felt good to suit up
and get in the cockpit (or at least in front of a greenscreen).

11/27 - 90% of the CG work is done, shooting for the Greenscreen
shots will take place on Sunday, December 4.

10/05 - The script is complete, CG work will begin on October 8;
to be completed on or about 11/25.

  
   
  Welcome to the official site for Star Wars: Retaliation, a fanfilm by Ryan Gallion.
The story takes place a short time after Episode III, where a group of freedom fighters known as the rebellion has begun to form. Defensless against imperial attacks, they design the X-Wing starfighter. The story follows the first flight of the legendary starfighter that will have such an important role in the fall of the empire.

Admittingly the short is more of a dogfight/effects sequence than a true film, mainly because this was a one-man show. I produced everything in the short including the script, filming, editing, CG, sound effects, and of course the main role of Blue leader. My only assistance in the short will be a voice actor for the role of echobase, and the X-Wing cockpit model which was provided by Scott Betts (ROGNOG) on the TFN boards.

Without resources like actors and sets; I always knew that this would be more of
an effects test than a film contaning dialog, characters, and full storyline. The first
cuts of Retaliation were exciting to watch, but lacked any substance without a story or an arch. I finally came up with the concept after watching Episode III and being somewhat dissapointed that the Xwing wasn’t around yet. It occurred to me that others may want to hear the tale of how the first X-wing came to be. In doing so, Retaliation, as well as the X-Wing were born.
